Inbound and Outbound Sales

Can Lead Generation be achieved through inbound or outbound marketing?

Lead generation is the process of finding prospects who can become your client now or later. Finding prospects means collecting information about them like name, email ID, phone number and organization name etc. where you start to build a trusted relationship with them and make them your regular customer by your good conduct and providing them quality service and product.


There are two marketing ways to get lead generation

Outbound Marketing
Inbound Marketing

Let’s see what we understand by these two terms

Outbound marketing is nothing but a traditional way of marketing or we can say direct marketing where a salesperson approaches their prospects through various means like cold calls, messaging, emails, direct mails, conferences, personal meeting etc. TV ads, Radio Ads, banner installation etc also comes under outbound marketing.
These kinds of marketing require lots of resources, money, time and effort. So, many of the companies are opting for inbound marketing to maximize their ROI.
A question arises here is, is outbound marketing worthless to put even our effort?
The answer is, No it’s not worthless. It’s almost impossible to achieve full brand awareness in the market without outbound marketing. Especially, in the case of B2B, outbound marketing plays a vital role, where we can reach isolated and even small prospects in the market.

Inbound marketing refers to internet marketing techniques where we do not approach prospects but understand prospects needs and mindset and attract via different means like blog content, podcasts, webinars, newsletters, social media marketing, SEO, display ads, search ads etc.
We know that whenever people looking for any product or service, they look for them on any search engine like Google with set keywords. They find their answer through any content which can help them in some way. Then they try to approach to buy the product, hire any service or look for contact details to have direct contact.
Sometimes, it is not necessary that you can get leads only after publishing your content and service but yet it is effective way generating the lead in inbound marketing. Publishing content surely helps your website to rank better than your competitor if not get leads at that moment.

Which one to choose?

Both inbound and outbound marketing has its own benefits. We need to consider them as far as we are looking for brand awareness and lead generation.
There is one thing that needs to be concluded here is that both inbound and outbound together wins the battle in case of maximizing the ROI. It’s true that inbound marketing is cost effective and easy to target demographics. But without outbound marketing, we cannot cover all our prospects and maximize ROI.
